EventReader Features

1. Filtering based on the time difference. One can configure EventReader 2 to only show events in the last 24 hours. This is a great way to take a quick look at the state of the computer.

2. Filtering based on a certain time interval, the granularity up to a second.

3. Filtering based on the type of event. Typically, an administrator would only be interested in Error, Warnings and Failure Audit events. This feature provides the ability to do that.

4. Filtering based on event id/source combinations.

5. Computer list. While there may be many Windows NT/2000/XP computers within a company, the administrators only need to monitor the events on specific computers (servers that are critical to the company). The ability to have a list of these computers that can be accessed via a mouse click saves time and lots of mouse clicks. The computers can be organized in groups.

6. Consolidate logs view. Through this feature, one can consolidate all the logs from all the computers in the group or all the logs for one particular computer. This is one great way of correlating events on various servers and identifying problems that may affect many computers at once. All the filtering options can be applied to this consolidated view.

7. Sorting of the information displayed by date/time, event source, event type, event id, computer or user name.

8. Ability to save and read .evt files.

9. Ability to export the current event list in html format. The html reports are easy to read with any browser and contain hyperlinks to www.eventid.net for event ids and event sources. To export the log,  use the "File, Export Log..." menu. Based on what is selected, one can export all the logs for one computer or each individual log. The html reports can be customized for fonts and colors.

10. The columns widths for the event details can be adjusted and are preserved from one use to another.

11. Scheduled reports. EventReader 2 can be scheduled to generate and email HTML-based reports based on a configurable filtering criteria.

12. Email notifications. EventReader 2 can be configured to send email notifications if a new event is recorded during a refresh.
